Join us on November 17 as we feature Alexandria's Port City Brewing Company! Port City Brewing Company is proud to revive, celebrate and continue Alexandria's rich brewing history in their modern artisanal brewery right outside of the Nation’s Capital. The brewery was founded in January 2011 because they felt that the DC area needed more choices for great quality, locally produced craft beer. Voted Small Brewing Company of the Year in 2015 by the Great American Beer Festival, Port City Brewing Company is recognized for its strong beer program.
Staff will be on site to serve:
Ways & Means: Session IPA brewed with rye, 4.5% ABV
Tidings: Belgian-style blonde ale with coriander, cardamom, fresh ginger and grains of paradise, 7.8% ABV
Downright Pilsner: Czech-style Pilsner, 4.8% ABV
Admission fee includes tastings, snacks, and tours of the historic home of DC's most successful brewer, Christian Heurich. Guests must be 21 or older.
About History & Hops: History & Hops is a monthly series at the Heurich House Museum, the former Dupont Circle home of D.C.'s most successful brewer Christian Heurich. Every third Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30pm, the museum partners with a local craft brewery for house tours and beer tastings. Guided tours through Heurich’s well-preserved Victorian mansion will discuss his brewery and the D.C. region’s rich brewing history. All proceeds benefit the preservation and growth of the Heurich House Museum. Guests must be 21 or older.
Tickets are non-refundable. If you purchased tickets to an event and are no longer able to attend, we thank you for your support of our museum. Please be advised that we may refuse service to anyone who appears intoxicated upon arrival or during the event.
